Social Media Campaign Development: Los Angeles Police Protective League

Public Safety Awareness Campaign
As part of my work with the Los Angeles Police Protective League, I help create and publish social media content that communicates public safety issues, law enforcement updates, and community awareness messages.
This campaign focused on a man who faced sentencing after assaulting a federal officer during a protest. The purpose of the post was to communicate a clear public safety message: people can disagree politically, protest, and express frustration, but violence against law enforcement officers carries serious legal consequences.
What I Did
Content Strategy
Developed a timely post around a current public safety issue to increase awareness and audience engagement.
Message Framing
Helped frame the post in a way that was direct, informative, and focused on legal consequences rather than political opinion.
Platform Execution
Published the content for Instagram, where visual impact, headline clarity, and caption structure are important for audience attention.
Audience Engagement
The post generated strong engagement, including more than 1,000 likes and active comment discussion.
Why We Posted It
The post was created to remind the public that federal law applies to everyone. Protest activity does not exempt someone from consequences if they assault an ICE agent, federal officer, or any other law enforcement officer.
The broader message was simple: people can disagree with an agency, law enforcement, or government action, but physically attacking officers can lead to prosecution and prison time.

This project shows how social media can be used for public awareness, issue-based communication, and audience education. It also demonstrates the importance of timing, visual design, caption writing, and message clarity when posting about sensitive public safety issues.
